Updates for 2019! We've updated and added some content in the following disease states Acid/Base Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Breast Cancer, CHF, Chronic Kidney Disease, Clostridium Difficile, Crohn's, DVT/PE, Depression, Diabetes, Gout, Migraines, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, PUD, Meningitis, Osteoporosis, Parkinson's, PAD, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sepsis, Sexual Dysfunction, Shingles, STD's, Vaccines. If you talk to anyone who's taken the BCPS exam, you'll quickly understand that the BCPS exam will likely be the most challenging exam you'll ever take. You need all the resources you can get to make sure you are prepared! In addition to the exam being very difficult, you are likely a busy professional with very minimal free time. I’ve always had a hard time staying focused while studying from large review article type study guides and have squandered hours reading while retaining very little. This book is intended to be a crash course/cheat sheet overview of the most highly testable material. I wanted to remember the really important stuff, because I know it is impossible to know every minute detail. BCPS Bullets, the Condensed BCPS Study Guide will help prepare you for the exam as well as help you maximize your study time. We covered over 100+ disease states straight from the BCPS content outline provided by BPS, and included important pearls for each condition including assessments, risk factors, most commonly used drugs of choice, must know adverse effects, miscellaneous clinical pearls, notorious drug interactions, warnings and precautions, and of course, relevant labs. I wanted to cover each disease state in 1-2 pages to try to ensure you are reviewing the most relevant content. We did go over 2 pages on some disease states, but we did our best to keep the information concise and critical for you to know in your preparation to becoming a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. The book is over 300+ pages, but it is in bullet point format and very easy to digest multiple disease states at a sitting. There is also some white around the margins to take additional notes or highlight essential information to remember. As many of you are aware from the content outline, the BCPS exam is not all clinical. In addition to the disease states on the BCPS content outline, we’ve also included sections on biostatistics as well as important regulatory issues. I can assure you that there is no doubt this book will help in your preparation to becoming a BCPS pharmacist! The Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) is a designation from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. The contents within this study guide are not affiliated or endorsed by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

I was short in time to study for the bcps exam, but this book was the only prep book I bought and went through completely before the exam. I used this book to identify my weakest topics and then read more from other resources on those topics only. It did a good job to highlight the essential points to know, since the exam itself has such a broad range of topics. And it did help me pass on first try.Product details

BCPS Bullets Eric Christianson 9781544256542 Books Reviews
Great book. I am using it to prepare for nurse practitioner boards and appreciate the bullet point format and clinical applications.
Like the book. Very concise! One error page 110, "GLP-1 Inhibitors", should be "GLP-1 ANALOGS".
I have found typos, but I like the brevity of each subject review. I don't believe this would prepare one for the exam ad hoc, but maybe a good review before the exam.
Amazing book! This really helped me prepare for my pharmacy rotations by highlighting the most important things. It is so useful, rather than going through 3 years of classnotes. I truly appreciate this book greatly!
To give you some context, I have been eyeing the BCPS for 7 years as a pharmacist. I usually spend more time in the ICU or ER than I do in pediatrics, OR, etc. This is meant for the pharmacist that has done the clinical work, but needs to refresh on other topics that they forgot or haven't really utilized in their field of work. I have attended the ASHP BCPS review and the ACCP BCPS review. I recommend taking the ACCP review (WITH THE EXTRA BIOSTATISTICS COURSE) for a more in depth review. They have a fall review (Oct.) in Arizona, and a winter review (Feb.) in Florida. The ASHP review (at the Mid-Year meeting during December) had some interesting portions, but some lecturers who couldn't care less and cannot pace the lectures. You pay $500+ for the class! This book will not tell you everything, but it will remind you of the material we all studied to get where we are. I just check Lexi-Comp or Uptodate on my phone for more detailed information. It does push other studying material for a separate site, but it is about 3 pages worth of it. Overall, it is a useful tool to use to refresh!
Used this book to prepare for the BCPS exam and found it to be extremely helpful (and I did pass!) I honestly didn’t know where to start to prepare myself and this format made it easy to cover a bulk of material. Thanks!
You'll never get any other book with so much clinical content for this price. The presentation of thru bullets, makes it easier for me to digest all the important information in my review.
